Enfield and Haringey’s Desiree Henry helped Europe win the IAAF Continental Cup by securing silver as part of the women’s 4x100m relay team on Saturday.
Henry, 19, was on last-leg duties as Europe took silver in Marrakesh with a personal best time of 42.98, finishing behind winners Americas, who crossed the line in 42.44 to snatch gold.
Europe won 11 points for finishing in second place in the 4x100m relay – helping boost their overall total to 447.5 – enough to win the competition ahead of 2010 winners the Americas.
It has been a memorable season for Henry, who was part of the Team GB 4x100m relay team which won gold and broke a 34-year-old national record at the European Championships in Zurich last month.
