Charlotte is now the newest member of the Haringey team and along with Elizabeth will be bringing you up-to-date news at the click of a button, as the expression goes.
Charlotte has recently crossed the north-south divide to live and work this side of the Thames. Previous to her venture into these northernmost neighbourhoods, Charlotte worked on two local papers in
south-east London for a year. Straight into a job as a reporter after graduating in 2007, it perhaps helped that she at least learnt how to spell at Exeter University, with a four-year degree in
English and French.
As a qualified ski instructor, Charlotte also hides a passion for winter snowports and pines away what little summers we get waiting for the snow to fall. Combined with her love of the mountains is
her love of adventure and travelling; you could say these go hand in hand.
With her feet firmly on the ground here in Haringey, Charlotte hopes to pass off her innate nosiness as an ambition to bring you the best stories, and muddle this into a commentary on the borough's
many issues. This shall be more commonly known as her blog.

The polyclinic fairytale and its unhappy ending
So, the NHS is 60. Happy Birthday. More like Unhappy Birthday. In such a time of turmoil over future NHS plans, it does seem a bit daft to be celebrating 60 ‘great’ years of our public health service.

Bread and butter issues
As a reporter at the Haringey Independent for nearly three weeks now I feel it's about time I take the plunge and write a blog.
