WHO is playing party politics? Howard Eeles (Letters, October 19) is completely missing the point of Mark Garnier's letter.

Despite competing with Dr Richard Taylor for the parliamentary seat of Wyre Forest, he and Wyre Forest Conservatives shared Richard's and Health Concern's views on the downgrading of Kidderminster Hospital and these views were widely publicised by us.

As Mark said, this was transmitted to Westminster, where Richard was given a Conservative seat on the Health Select Committee during his first term.

Mark also made the point that any decision on Wyre Forest health services will be made by the Secretary of State for Health, who will be either Labour or, more likely, Conservative at the next election - not Independent.

What is important for us all to know is what objectives are Richard/Health Concern working to achieve and when we will know when they have been reached.

Do they include the return of blue light services/accident and emergency? Surely we should be open and honest with the electorate and not give them false hopes.

Please tell us.
