Falmouth 25pts Hayle 40pts FALMOUTH U9s started the new season with a game against Hayle. After three weeks of pre-match training both Falmouth and Hayle got the game off to an impressive display of open playing rugby.
With a strong wind behind Hayle in the first half, they touched down two tries in the opening minutes of the game. Sam Cummins replied with a well deserved try after excellent support from the Falmouth backs. Hayle maintained the pressure and, after some class tackling from both sides and good running rugby, increased the lead to 25-5.
Just before half-time Kerry Matthews and Louis Tomlinson broke through the centre to set up Sam Cummins with his and Falmouth's second try.
Again in the second half, Hayle scored early but Falmouth fought back with three tries, two from Louis Tomlinson, and Sam Cummins took his tally to three with a fine burst down the left wing. A late try from Hayle sealed their victory. Man of the match for Falmouth was Tomlinson.
Falmouth: Louis Tomlinson, Georgia Sanders, Michael Charman, George Parry, Sam Cummins, Cameron Bullock, Tom Bamford, George Bowden, Benjamin Rowe, Rhys Barnes, Kerry Matthews.
