PUNCHBOWL FC 0, POWICK FC RES 8

POWICK Reserves travelled to Ronkswood Community Centre to face Punchbowl FC in their latest Worcester Sunday League Division four encounter.

Adopting a new attacking formation, Powick went for goals from the first whistle and were in front with less than two minutes on the clock. Luan Gashi picked the ball up out wide before powering past the Punchbowl left-back to hit a rising shot beyond the keeper.

Lee Jenkins then got on the end of a cross from the right, but under pressure, struck his shot over the bar.

The best chance of all was squandered moments later when Powick were awarded a penalty. Jenkins stepped up to take the kick, but his effort was easily saved.

Oliver Munn went close when presented with an opportunity in the box. His clever effort was tipped around the post.

Powick finally doubled their lead when another Powick effort was deflected into the path of Jenkins, who drove the ball home to make it 2-0.

Two became three moments later when another Jenkins effort was saved, only for Alma Attree to force the ball over the line.

With half-time approaching, Powick made it five thanks to an Oliver Munn double.

The second half, although dominated once more by Powick, was a much scrappier affair.

Powick fired a shot wide early in the half before Oliver Munn was presented with a chance to complete hat-trick, but he fired his shot over.

Late in the half, Powick finally got their sixth goal when Adam Munn again met a corner with his head, giving the keeper no chance.

Adam Munn was on the score sheet again soon after, to match his brother's double, when a quick free-kick from Attree found him free in the box with only the keeper to beat and he made no mistake.

Paul Ryan almost made it eight with a shot from distance before Pete Moore completed the scoring, drawing the keeper before beating him with a low powerful shot for 8-0.

Pete Aston was man-of-the-match.
