A LEWISHAM school is celebrating coming out of special measures five months early.
Launcelot Primary School, in Launcelot Road, Downham, was told it had made significant progress in results for maths, science and English.
Schools which are thought to be underachieving are put in special measures and carefully monitored by inspectors.
The inspectors said provision for 250 pupils with special educational needs was well made and the governing body was “effective”. Headteacher Blazena Richards was commended for vision and leadership. She said: “We are thrilled to have such a ringing endorsement of our progress”.
