A man found guilty of three robberies and indecently assaulting a 17-year-old girl could receive a life sentence.

Darren Brennan, aged 30, of Prospect Vale, Woolwich, was convicted at Blackfriars Crown Court for the four attacks on November 15 last year.

The jury heard how Brennan attacked the 17-year-old girl at around 2am as she walked to her grandmother's house.

She claimed he showed her a kitchen knife before snatching her mobile phone and touching her breast and groin.

Later that morning he attacked another woman, Manuela Fiedler who, despite handing over her bag, was punched to the ground before he started unzipping her cardigan.

She said: "I felt a bang to the back of my head and was hit again to the face. I stumbled to the ground."

A third victim of Brennan's violence was also hit across the head with a heavy object, leaving her with a broken finger and needing 11 stitches.

In his defence, Brennan claimed mistaken identity, saying he was at home in bed by 1am.

However, at the hearing on April 28, he was found guilty of three counts of robbery and one of indecent assault.

Remanding Brennan in custody until sentencing on May 28, Judge David Martineau said: "I am considering imposing life imprisonment. He is a potential serious danger to women."
