AWARD-WINNING Scarborough fishmonger Peter Thundercliffe will be selling fresh, locally caught fish at Castle Howard's Farm Shop every Thursday from 12 noon.

Mr Thundercliffe runs the 'Fruits From The Sea' fishmongers in Scarborough. He will be buying locally caught cod, haddock, halibut, plaice, lemon sole and other fish at Scarborough fish market in the morning, and taking it to Castle Howard in his refrigerated van for noon.

He said: "I took part in the Ryedale Food and Drink Festival at Castle Howard in May, and lots of people said to me that it was hard to get good quality fish outside of Scarborough and other fishing ports.

''I wanted to meet that need, and sell my fish somewhere inland that respected good quality, fresh food from local providers, and Castle Howard's Farm Shop was the obvious choice.'' Access to the Farm Shop and other shops in the Stable Courtyard at Castle Howard is free of charge.
