Comics are an "amazing medium for storytelling" says 47-year-old Crouch End cartoonist, Sean Azzopardi who goes under the pen name Seanazz.

A founding member of London Underground Comics, his skills have taken him to The Angoulême International Comics Festival and Toronto Comic Arts Festival.

He has been making and self publishing comics for 11 years and says a lot of his work is autobiographical and titles include the acclaimed Ed, Twelve Hour Shift and Dark Matters.

He is working on Necessary Monsters for First Comics, about a covert agency of monsters and killers and has worked on numerous anthologies and magazines.

His style varies from the gothically dark to quirky and colourful and his favourite cartoon character is currently Garfield.

Sean says: "I like working with different mediums and using a variety of subject matter."

He has recently branched out into photography and watercolours and his two exhibitions at Crouch End Festival will include framed prints of comic covers, film stills and water-colour portraits.
