Haringey Liberal Democrats have elected Councillor Robert Gorrie as their new leader.
Speaking at his party's annual general meeting, where he was elected, Mr Gorrie said: "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead such a capable team who are poised to take control of Haringey Council. I look
forward to continuing
the fight for residents
and to securing victory in 2010."
Mr Gorrie, formerly the spokesman for finance, takes over from Highgate ward councillor Neil Williams, who led the party for four-and-a-half years.
