Couch potatoes no longer need to leave the comfort of their homes to have fun in the park, thanks to an online tour.

Albert Road Recreation Ground, in Wood Green, is the fourth park in Haringey to be brought to life on the internet.

Residents can explore the borough's green spaces through 360 rotating photographs.

The online tours also include short descriptions of the park's main features.

Council chiefs say rather than discouraging residents to enjoy the great outdoors it is a way to get more people interested.

Councillor Dhiren Basu, cabinet member for leisure, culture and lifelong learning, said: "I hope people will take a look at the virtual tours and be inspired to come down to our parks and see them in person.

"We are very proud of our parks and want to encourage more Haringey residents and people from outside the borough to visit them."

Other parks available for online tours are Finsbury Park, Hornsey's Priory Park and Bruce Castle Park in Tottenham.

HC certainly know how to waste money. If they really want people to go outside more why don't they find a way to make the sun shine.
