A group planning to start a free school has won a place a national programme to help set up the new institution.
Free School group MTO Primary, which is made up of teachers, parents and charities, won a place on development programme which will provide supports to the group.
The group is awaiting approval from the Department of Education, but plans to open a new primary school to work with some of Haringey’s most disadvantaged children.
The school development programme is run by education charity New Schools Network which helps groups prepare their free school applications to government.
It is hoped with the programme an application will be prepared during the coming months and it will be submitted early next year.
