Plans submitted for housing development in Lawrence Road, Tottenham
10:56am Thursday 25th October 2012 in News By Bruce Thain
A developer has submitted plans to build more than 260 homes as part of a redevelopment project in Tottenham.
The 264 homes are due to be built on the site of the former National Asset Management building, in Lawrence Road by developer Bellway Homes.
Plans have been in the pipeline for several years after Haringey Borough Council earmarked the road for regeneration.
The plans will provide new homes, with a number designated affordable housing, as well as employment and retail areas.
The build will include seven buildings up to seven storeys high and will include nearly 100 new car parking spaces.
Before summiting the proposals to Haringey Council, Bellway carried out a consultation with people living in the surrounding area.
Concerns were raised about the affect the new housing will have on schools in the area and the possible rise in families moving to the area.
