Young tycoons start business as part of schools project

Pupils at a secondary school have been picked to show their business skills as part of school entrepreneur project.

Year eight pupils from at Heartlands High School, in Station Road, Wood Green, were chosen by Dragon’s Den Star Peter Jones to take part in the Tycoon in Schools Project.

The group have received a loan of more than £800 from the TV star to set up a business and trade for a month, with profits going back to the school.

The school is one of 100 which have been picked to take part in the project aiming to get school children involved in entrepreneurship.

The group’s business plan is to create a recipe book which they hope will reflect the diversity of the Borough of Haringey.

During the coming months the group will be selling the books and by December 5 a teacher for the school will upload the group’s business report with the winning business to be announced on December 10.
