Former solider can bid for suitable home says housing group
5:18pm Friday 26th October 2012 in News By Bruce Thain
A former army infantryman is able to bid for a suitable home for his disabled son and family says housing spokeswoman.
As previously reported, Denzel Palmer, 35, who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan says he is desperate for a more suitable home for his disabled son.
The family of six have been cooped up in a two bedroom flat, in Howard Road, for five years but Mr Palmer said the stain is becoming too much for his disabled son Carl.
A spokeswoman for Homes for Haringey, which operates the flat, confirmed Mr Palmer has applied for a transfer from the flat in Howard Road.
The council have assessed his application for re-housing and have been put into Band B which is for application for people who have higher priority housing needs.
They added he is able to bid for a suitable property for his situation on the Home Connection site which is where available properties are advertised.
