A soap actress and an army of volunteers will attempt to skate their way into the record books today by completing the world's longest conga on ice.
Coronation Street star Michelle Collins will be joined by more than 260 fellow skaters on Alexandra Palace Ice Rink from 5pm to smash the record and raise money for the Alexandra Wylie Tower Foundation.
Alexandra died two years ago aged just 17 from cancer and friends and family have organised the event in her memory.
Her mother Lindsey said: "Allie's friends have come up with such a lovely way to remember her. She loved skating and she really loved having fun. The conga record breaking attempt will encompass both."
The foundation raises money to help underprivileged young people to achieve their dreams through involvement in the sciences, performing arts, outdoor activities and environmental projects.
