Schools celebrate 'good' Ofsted report

Teachers and pupils celebrate Ofsted report Teachers and pupils celebrate Ofsted report

A pair of schools have been given some good news for the New Year with their Ofsted reports.

St Michael's Church of England Primary School in Bounds Green Road and its partner school St Ann's Church of England Primary School in Avenue Road were both given ‘good’ ratings by Ofsted.

The two schools, which were viewed by inspectors at the end last year, have been working together since 2010 as part of an education federation.

Inspectors said all pupils at St Michael's make good progress because of good teaching, which had improved since the previous inspection, also praising good resources and effective planning.

Linda Sarr, executive headteacher of both schools, said: “We have some absolutely fantastic, dedicated and hard working staff and governors at both St Ann's and St Michael's, and some very talented children and engaged parents and carers.

“The reports endorse our strong view that the joint working through our federation of schools has significantly improved outcomes of our children.

“This is a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our school communities.”

Councillor Ann Waters, Haringey Borough Council's cabinet member for children, said: “Congratulations to everyone at St Michael’s and St Ann’s, the inspection outcomes are thoroughly deserved.”
