A road has been closed in both directions due to a crash between a van and a car causing severe delays.
The A1 Archway Road in Highgate has been closed in both directions from the Bishops Road junction and the B519 North Hill junction.
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 9.30am and the road has been closed since 10am due to a collision between a van and a car at traffic lights near Highgate Underground Station.
The driver of the car was freed from the vehicle by ambulance crews and firefighters and taken to hospital for treatment.
Congestion is building up on the A1 to the junction with Bancroft Avenue, and on the Great North Road Cherry Tree Hill to the junction with The Bishops Avenue and to the Northwood Road junction.
A diversion is in operation through the Highgate Village affecting bus route 263.
