2:53pm Thursday 10th January 2013 in News By Bruce Thain
A man was shot in the face while driving his car last night.
Police were called just before 11:15pm yesterday to reports of a man who had approached an ambulance suffering shotgun wounds to his face in Glynne Road.
Officers have linked this call with other calls to police about shots heard near The Sandlings in Turnpike Lane.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he remains. Police said his injuries are not to believed to be life-threatening.
Detectives investigating the attack believe the man was driving his car, a blue Vauxhall Vectra, through The Sandlings when another car pulled alongside and fired a shotgun at the passenger door of the car.
Later in the evening an 18-year-old man, 21-year-old man and a 54-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. All three are in custody at separate police stations.
Police are appealing for anyone with any information about the shooting to get in contact.
