Jobs under threat as Blockbuster goes into administration

DVD rental chain Blockbuster UK has gone into administration putting jobs at its Crouch End store at risk.

Staff at the company’s branch in Tottenham Lane await further news about the company which has 4,190 staff in 528 branches around the country.

The business has met competition in recent years with the rise of internet film rental companies.

Firm Deloitte has taken over the running of the company and stores will remain open while administrators try to find a buyer for the company.

The news comes after it was announced earlier this week music retailer HMV went into administration.

@lindathecat Good riddance? What a vile, stuck up you're own back side middle class view you have. I hope you never have the misfortune of facing redundancy. When crouch end has an empty high street due to the current economic climate, let's see how crime rates increase. Moron.
