Police operation takes cars off the roads in Haringey

Police have seized 16 cars as part of an operation targeting illegal drivers.

Officers from neighbourhood policing teams set up an automatic number plate reader along Seven Sisters Road and Bounds Green Road last week to catch uninsured drivers in Haringey.

Six vehicles were seized in south Tottenham for not being insured, as well as several bags of cannabis and a disabled parking permit that was believed to have been stolen.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and for failing to stop for police.

Police also arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

In Bounds Green Road, ten cars were seized for being without insurance and one driver was issued with a warning for possession of cannabis.
