Winning £1million lottery ticket bought in Haringey claimed

A lottery ticket worth £1million bought in the borough has finally been claimed by the lucky winner.

The National Lottery had been trying to track down winner of EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle who bought their ticket in Haringey for the draw on New Year’s Day.

The lucky ticket holder is now one of 25 people from around the country who won £1m in the draw.

Under National Lottery rules, unless the winner decides to take full publicity no further information can be released.

A spokesman for the National Lottery said: “We’re delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win. What a great way to start 2013.

“It would have been awful if the ticket holder had missed out on this substantial and life-changing amount of money.”
