A man has been found guilty of providing Mark Duggan with the gun he had when he was shot dead by police which sparked rioting across the UK.

Kevin Hutchinson Foster, 30, Neville Road, Hackney, was today found guilty at the Old Bailey of proving Mr Duggan with the gun which has been stashed in a shoe box.

The weapon was found at the scene of the shooting on August 4, 2011, in Ferry Lane, Tottenham where police had stopped the taxi Mr Duggan had been a passenger in and fatally shot him.

The killing of Mark Duggan sparked rioting in the streets of Tottenham which then spread across London and other cities around the country.

Earlier this week a pre-inquest into the death of Mark Duggan was held and there is currently an ongoing investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission into the shooting.

At the inquest hearing it was announced a full inquest would take place in September this year.

Hutchinson Foster will be sentenced at the Old Bailey on February 26.
