An MP has opened a new housing development which marked the final part of a regeneration project by a charitable trust.

Tottenham MP David Lammy officially opened Vickers Court, part of the Hale Village Regeneration project last Friday, which was the final stage of regeneration around Tottenham Hale.

The block of 174 affordable homes was developed by Newlon Housing Trust, which has contributed to the £400million spent on the Hale Village area.

Mr Lammy and families who have just moved into the building braved the cold for the ceremony in the building's fourth floor garden.

During the coming year Newlon hopes to build a new community centre as part of Vickers Court, which is due to open in the summer.
