A doctor’s surgery planning to open a 100-hour pharmacy on its premises says it wants to work with patients and the community.
The Somerset Gardens Family Healthcare Centre is seeking planning permission to open the facility inside its surgery in Creighton Road, Tottenham.
There has been strong opposition from people living near the surgery with more than 1,300 people signing a petition against the plans.
Surgery manager Marian Lombardelli said: “We want to work with the community and our patients as we develop our plans.
“The pharmacy will be a benefit to the whole community and these plans are part of the development of the surgery giving patients the services they need under one roof.”
She added with the plans would be able to get treatment for minor ailments at the surgery as a result of the extra opening hours.
Also she says there are currently no plans for a needle exchange and methadone distribution point part of the 100-hour pharmacy.
