Pupils and teachers are celebrating after Ofsted inspectors rated their school 'good' and their headteacher "inspired".

Park View School, in West Green Road, Tottenham, received its report this week following an inspection last month, showing the school had improved from 'satisfactory' in its previous inspection to 'good' - the second highest rating.

The school was also marked 'outstanding' for its leadership and management.

The report said: “The inspired headteacher leads an excellent team and their highly effective work has led to major and sustained improvements.”

The report also said the level of teaching at the school is good, with some examples of outstanding practice.

But inspectors said the school is not yet outstanding overall, saying: “The proportion of outstanding teaching is not high enough to ensure that all students make rapid and sustained progress.”

Headteacher Alex Atherton said: “I am delighted with the outcome of the inspection.

“The Ofsted framework introduced in September 2012 is far more challenging than anything seen before; it is very clear from the report that Park View is now a school bordering on outstanding.

“The only recommendation was to increase the proportion of outstanding lessons still further. We are well on the road to achieving that.”
