Disability charity gets cheque from company’s fundraising relay
A disability charity is delighted with a £1,000 donation raised from company’s fundraising torch relay.
Care provider Regard held a number of fundraising events for disability charity Action for Kids at the end of last year at its centres across London.
After months of work and having collected all the money together Regard presented a cheque to the charity earlier this week.
Lyn Prodger of Action for Kids said: "They have done an absolutely fantastic job. I would like to thank everyone involved from the bottom of my heart.
“We are a really small charity and yet the work we do to help children and young people towards independence is vital.
“Our vision is a world where all disabled young people and their families receive the support and advice they need, when they need it, for as long as they need it.”
A torch was passed from each centre and service users and staff from the independent care provider took part in events including sponsored walks, an art sale, a football sweepstake, a tug of war and community parties.
Action for Kids, based in Tottenham Lane, Hornsey, helps more than 650 young people across the country with physical and learning disabilities by providing them with mobility equipment and education services.
