10:00am Sunday 17th February 2013 in News By Bruce Thain
Protesters at a march held in January
A protest march is due to take place this weekend through the streets of the borough in support of Kurds in Turkey.
The march will go from Edmonton Angel Corner in Upper Edmonton to the Kurdish Community Centre in Green Lanes, Harringay.
Kurdish people in the UK have staged several marches in the past few months in support of language rights, cultural rights and national rights, which they argue are being repressed in Turkey.
Hundreds of people brought Green Lanes to a standstill at one a sit down protest as part of the Peace in Kurdistan campaign.
The march will start in Edmonton at about 1.30pm and will pass through Tottenham along Philip Lane, arriving at the community centre at around 5pm.
Police will be supervising the protest to help deal with traffic issues.

Seriously, the one thing you do about protesting is do it "legally" in this country, sitting down in the main road is not the correct way to protest! Im getting cheesed off with these protests in my area and there is nothing Britain can do about the situation in Turkey end of Im going to protest at the next election by voting for the Bnp!
