Food Standards Agency says investigation into Tottenham meat company is ongoing

The Food Standards Agency says investigations into frozen meat and a possible horse meat contamination at a food company are ongoing.

Last week officers from the food standard agency raided Dinos & Sons Continental Foods Limited, based in the Millmead Industrial estate in Tottenham Hale, as part of investigations into horse meat contamination.

With help from police and officers from Haringey Borough Council, the agency seized computers and documentary evidence as well as meat samples for testing.

A spokesman for the FSA said investigations into the frozen beef stored at the company are ongoing.

A spokesman for Haringey Borough Council said: “The Food Standards Agency, supported by Haringey Council and the Metropolitan Police, went into premises in the borough on Thursday morning in relation to the ongoing national issues surrounding horse meat contamination.

“We will continue to work closely with the FSA to assist them in their investigation.”

A statement on the food company’s website said Dinos & Sons is cooperating with the FSA with its investigation.

They added at no time has the company produced or manufactured anything that is under investigation or is the subject of any possible contamination or mislabelling.
