A landlord caught without gas and electricity safety certificates has been fined thousands of pounds.
Taskin Ahmet Izzet was fined £3,000 and ordered to pay £1,865 costs for breaches of safety regulations at shared houses in Whymark Avenue in Wood Green and Burgoyne Road in Harringay.
Following a Haringey Borough Council investigation, Izzet failed to provide a mandatory electrical inspection report in either of the properties, and did not carry out essential improvement works in Whymark Avenue.
He also was caught without a gas safety inspection report in Burgoyne Road.
Councillor Nilgun Canver, cabinet member for the environment, said: "Failing to produce these reports can suggest the services have not been inspected, which is a serious issue and could put lives at risk.
“We have all heard about tragedies resulting from faulty services and appliances, particularly gas appliances."
He was fined £750 for each of the four offences and was ordered to pay Haringey Council costs of £1,865 and a £15 victim surcharge.
