Haringey Borough Council launches new scheme to help cut fuel bills

A new scheme has been launched to help people reduce their fuel bills.

Haringey Borough Council has signed to the Big Community Switch with other councils across the country.

People are being urged to sign up to the free scheme in which the council will negotiate with energy companies to get cheaper gas and energy prices for all those taking part.

The council estimates people in the borough could save between £20 and £200.

Councillor Joe Goldberg, cabinet member for finance and carbon reduction, says the scheme aims to tackle fuel poverty by helping people get the best deal possible for fuel bills.

People have until April 8 to sign up to the scheme and can find out more about the scheme by visiting the Haringey Council website.
