Major sewage works to start next week in south Tottenham

Work to lay new sewer pipes intended to protect homes from flooding will begin this month.

The work will be carried out by Thames Water, which will be installing larger pipes in south Tottenham in Markfield Road and Constable Crescent.

The company says up to 20 homes in the area are at risk of possible flooding with water and sewage during heavy rain.

The £2.4 million project will take water away from the populated area and reduce the risk of flooding.

The work will begin on Monday March 11 and is expected to take up to nine months to complete.
