A volunteer at an animal shelter has been nominated for a national award which highlights work to improve animal welfare.
Kate Wickins is one of the finalists in the Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards 2013 for her work at Wood Green Animal Shelter, in Lordship Lane.
She was beat 3,000 other entrants and is now up against two other people in the animal charity employee of the year category.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Stratford-upon-Avon on Thursday May 2.
