Parents were asked to leave their cars at home and walk children to school in order to teach them about reducing air pollution.

The pupils at Tiverton Primary School, in Pulford Road, Tottenham, learned about air quality as part of Bubble Day on Friday May 17.

It encouraged children to travel to school by sustainable means within a 1km ‘bubble’ from the school, and allowed them to measure the air pollution using simple science experiments.

Students from Year 1 to Year 6 took part in the day’s events.

Deputy headteacher Liza Storm said: “It was wonderful to see how engaged the children were in their learning.”
