A 90-year-old man is believed to have spent two days on the floor of his home after suffering from heatstroke.
Police forced entry into his home before he was rushed to North Middlesex University Hospital in Sterling Way, Edmonton, suffering from dehydration.
The elderly man remains at the hospital, which had an increase in heat-related admissions to its A&E department on Saturday and Sunday.
Seven children were treated for allergies, five for asthma and one for heatstroke while nine adults were treated for alcohol related cases and two for heatstroke.
Fifteen adults were also admitted for asthma – the highest number of weekend admissions for asthma this summer.
Mark Channell, head A&E nurse at North Middlesex University Hospital said: “We've had a big increase in heat-related admissions to A&E. Enjoy the hot weather but remember to take it easy, keep cool and drink plenty of water.
"And please keep an eye on elderly and vulnerable family, friends and neighbours. Drop in to see them, make sure they have plenty to drink and check that are managing to stay cool."
