Haringey Police Gangs Unit arrested man following drugs raid
A 44-year-old man has been arrested after police officers found guns and drugs during a raid on a house in the St Ann’s area.
The Haringey Police Gangs Unit seized two handguns, a sawn off shotgun, nine rounds of ammunition and shotgun cartridges during the operation on Wednesday morning.
They also found what is believed to be cannabis and cocaine in the property.
The man was taken to a North London police station where he was later released on bail.
Acting Detective Superintendent Lee Presland, said: “This was the result of a lot of hard work by the gangs unit who have had great success in locating and seizing illegal firearms on the street and bringing those who have them to justice.
“By taking these guns out of circulation and tackling violent offenders that are gang members we feel we really are helping to keep the people of Haringey safe.
“This operation also sends out a firm message to anyone involved in gangs and crime that their activities will not be tolerated.”
