Karima Jai, from Tottenham, hosts charity gig for Cancer Research UK
A 26-year-old has organised a charity concert to raise money for research into cancer after her cousin was diagnosed with an incurable form of the disease.
Karima Jai, of Gospatrick Road, Tottenham, is hosting the show at music venue the Borderline, in central London, on Sunday.
She hopes to raise at least £1,000 and all the money will go Cancer Research UK.
The aspiring music manager said: “Earlier this year my cousin was told she had incurable spinal cancer and I’m really close to her so I felt like I should do something.
“Obviously it’s a shock to the whole family and it’s been difficult but my cousin has been really positive about it.
“She just has this amazing attitude and outlook on it all – it will be tough when it comes to the end but until then she is carrying on as normal.”
During the event there will be four unsigned acts playing – Erica Morris, JulieTTe, Carousel and John Galea.
A raffle will also be running throughout the night for people to win prizes.
The event starts at 7pm and finishes at 11pm with tickets costing £5 if they are booked online or £10 if purchased on the door.
