A charity has been awarded almost £400,000 to help struggling parents give their children the best start in life.
The children’s charity Barnardo’s was given £395,142 by the Big Lottery Fund to help vulnerable children up to the age of three years old.
Projects will serve the four wards of Bruce Grove, Northumberland Park, Tottenham Hale and White Hart Lane as part of the 'A Better Start' scheme.
They will work closely with authorities to develop breast feeding peer support and early years community champions.
The charity also hopes to expand services such as Babyworld antenatal classes, and improve communication and language for children to prepare them for school.
