Project to repair roof of Mitchley Road Halls complete
A special Sunday church service is going to be held to mark the end of a £59,000 project to rebuild the roof of a community hall.
Mass will be held on September 8 at newly repaired Mitchley Road Halls, in Mitchley Road, Tottenham.
It will be celebrated by the Right Reverend Robert Ladds, honorary assistant Bishop in the Diocese of London, at 5pm.
The project was run by St Mary the Virgin Church, in Lansdowne Road, which manages the building.
Money was donated by Goldsmiths, a jewellery retailer, Garfield Weston, a foundation which supports charitable causes, and The Veolia Environmental Trust.
It was used to restore the building’s leaky roof and install insulation.
The hall is used by groups including the Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association, a Tuesday lunch club, an artists’ corporation and the church's congregation.
Celebrations will be followed by refreshments.
