Changes to Haringey Borough Council cabinet announced
Changes to the cabinet have been announced by Haringey Borough Council.
The authority’s leader Claire Kober unveiled the new plans this morning.
Councillor Joseph Ejiofor will join the cabinet as lead member for Planning and Enforcement – a role that will see a focus on issues such as planning applications and licensing policies.
The regeneration portfolio holder – led by Cllr Alan Strickland – has been merged with regeneration and housing.
Cllr Joe Goldberg, the Cabinet Member for Finance and Carbon, will also take responsibility for all employment issues – building on his existing experience as cabinet member with responsibility for youth employment.
The changes follow last month’s announcement that Cllr John Bevan had moved from his position as cabinet member for Housing to be cabinet Member for Environment.
Cllr Kober said: “I’m really excited to be able to unveil these changes and to welcome Cllr Ejiofor to the Cabinet for the first time.
“I’m confident that the Cabinet has the talent and diversity needed to deliver on our ambitions for Haringey – including seeing through the regeneration of Tottenham, creating employment opportunities for thousands of residents, bringing new quality housing to the borough, improving education, and making Haringey a safer place for all.”
