Tottenham MP David Lammy calls for road improvements for cyclists
MP David Lammy has called for more to be done to make London’s roads safer for cyclists.
The Tottenham MP urged Mayor of London Boris Johnson to to commit to improving the roads for cyclists and pedestrians across the capital at a parliamentary debate this week.
During the debate, on the ‘Get Britain Cycling’ report, Mr Lammy added that whilst the mayor has done a lot to encourage cycling in London, targets for reducing casualties have been missed.
According to figures from the Department of Transport, only 14 per cent of Haringey residents cycle at least once a month - but Mr Lammy is keen to improve this figure.
