Heart charity launches bric-a-brac campaign
A heart charity has launched a new campaign to encourage people to donate their unwanted clothes at a Wood Green shop.
Mayor of Haringey Councillor Sheila Peacock officially launched the British Heart Foundation’s Great British Bagathon appeal at The Mall, Wood Green, yesterday.
Cllr Peacock was the first person to donate a back of items to this year’s campaign.
People are being urged to join in and donate one bag or many full of unwanted goods, shoes, toys, books, CDs and DVDs to the store.
Michael Thompson, Centre Manager at The Mall Wood Green said: “We’d like to encourage everyone in the local community to join in Britain’s biggest bag filling event and help fund life-saving research into heart disease. Simply fill up one bag, or many, and help the BHF fight for every heartbeat.”
