Guided walks through unique areas in Haringey
Unique areas of open space will host guided walks for the public to discover more about its plants and wildlife.
Transport for London (TfL) is sponsoring the free walks, with expert guides to help Haringey residents learn more about the countryside.
Ramblers can take part in a five mile walk from Highgate to Stoke Newington on Saturday, September 28.
The walk will follow an old railway line to Finsbury Park through to the New River, as well as passing other reservoirs and other lakes. People will be meeting at 1pm at Priory Gardens, Highgate.
On Saturday, September 28, the Walking on Water tour will take place – taking people through the Lea Valley, Walthamstow Marshes and Hackney Marshes. People who want to take part should meet at Tottenham Hale Station at 10am.
Ben Plowden, director of planning for TfL Surface Transport, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to discover how exciting and enjoyable walking in London can be with new and improved walking routes, more public spaces including greenways and better signs to help people easily find where they want to go.
“Join in one of the free walks and be part of the wider family of people taking to greener and healthier ways of getting around in the city.”
