Haringey Clinical Commissioning Group reminds people to complete GP Patient Survey
An organisation which plans healthcare services in Haringey has invited people to have their say on the quality of doctors in the borough.
The Haringey Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is reminding patients who have received the GP Patient Survey to complete it in order to identify areas for improvement.
Patients are asked about a range of issues, including how easy or difficult it is for them to make an appointment at their surgery and satisfaction with opening hours.
They are also asked about the quality of care received from their GP and practice nurses.
Dr Helen Pelendrides, the chairman of the Haringey CCG, said patient views are vital in order for services to improve.
She said: “Even if you previously filled in a survey, it is important to hear about your more recent experiences, especially as we are asking about more of the issues that concern patients.
“The views of our patients are vital in helping us to find out how we are doing and how we can improve.
“This is an excellent way for patients to help shape the services we provide now and in the future.”
More than 2.7 million people across the UK have been sent the survey about the care they receive from their local GPs, dentists and out-of-hours doctor services.
This is the seventh year the survey has been run and it is sent out to a random selection of patients each year.
Dr Pelendrides added: “I urge patients selected to use this opportunity to feed back their opinions on these important issues.
“The more responses we receive the more accurate a picture we will get on how practices are performing and can develop further on the areas which may need improvement.”
The last day to respond to this year’s questions is, September 27, 2013.
The GP Patient Survey is a national coordinated survey by NHS England and results of this and past surveys can be found here.
