Veolia Environmental Services defends customer service record
Haringey Borough Council’s waste contractor has defended its customer service performance and said it takes “all reported issues seriously”.
Veolia Environmental Services made the statement after Lynne Featherstone, the MP for Hornsey and Wood Green, criticised the quality of the waste disposal service.
The Liberal Democrat MP accused the authority of failing to act against Veolia despite numerous complaints from the public about its performance.
Complaints have ranged from unpredictable and patchy collections, difficulties with bin sizes, mess being left behind after collections and a poor follow-up service after complaints.
A spokesman for the contractor said:"Veolia is committed to providing a high level of customer service to Haringey residents and takes all reported issues seriously.
"Through the contract with Haringey council our performance is continually monitored and together we are always looking at ways we can improve.
“If residents do experience any issues with the service we would encourage them to contact us.”
A spokesman for the council said it always looking at ways to improve the service.
