Parents and children celebrate Roald Dahl Day in libraries
Families celebrated the 97th birthday of one of the greatest children's authors of the last century at libraries across the borough.
Friday was Roald Dahl Day and libraries held free events where children created their own BFG, or Big Friendly Giant, in memory of the acclaimed writer.
Wood Green Central Library, in High Road, Wood Green, ran an event from 10am to 11am.
Councillor Richard Watson, cabinet member for communities, said: “Roald Dahl is one of the greatest children’s authors of all time and I’m pleased to see such a wonderful range of events in our libraries to celebrate his work.
“I hope as many families join us as possible and look forward to seeing some of the swishwiffling creations that Haringey’s children come up with.”
