Myddleton Road Market returns to Bowes Park
Hundreds of people are expected to flock to a street market in Bowes Park after it was launched this summer.
The second Myddleton Road Market, in Myddleton Road, will be held on Sunday, September 29.
It is funded and supported by Haringey Borough Council and the Bowes Park Community Association.
The market, which was first held in June, will host a diverse array of stalls selling international food and drinks, fresh fruit and vegetables and vintage clothes and jewellery.
Market organiser Lucy Whitehead said: “We were excited at how busy the market was in June and we promise that we’ll return bigger and better on Sunday.
“Bowes Park really needs a regular market to help more people realise the wealth of traders on their doorstep and continue Myddleton Road’s regeneration.”
The council paid £5,000 toward the market’s start-up costs as an attempt to kick-start trade in the area and will make it a regular fixture on the Bowes Park calendar if it continues to be popular.
Councillor Alan Strickland, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “I was really pleased to see so many people supporting local traders and independent businesses at the first event in June.
“Visiting a market like this really opens your eyes to the great range of produce available in Haringey, so I’d urge residents to come and take a look on Sunday.”
The event will run from 11am to 4pm and it will be held on the section of Myddleton Road between Marlborough Road and Palmerston Road.
