Jan Trust, in Wood Green, wins Third Sector Awards for Excellence for work with asylum seekers and refugees
A women’s rights charity has won a national award for assisting asylum seekers and refugees.
The Jan Trust, based in Bedford Road, Wood Green, won one of this year’s Third Sector Awards for Excellence.
It received the Small Charity, Big Achiever award for working on a limited budget.
The charity was founded in 1989 and as well as working with asylum seekers and refugees. It also raises awareness of domestic violence and forced marriages.
Sajda Mughal, projects director of the trust, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the title for ‘small charity, big achiever’ by the Third Sector Awards for Excellence.
“We hope that winning this prestigious award will help us to reach even more vulnerable women across London and the UK.”
