Homes for Haringey wins Future Workforce Award for Project 2020 programme
The company which manages Haringey Borough Council's homes has won an award for its work with young people.
Homes for Haringey beat the BBC and Royal Air Force to take away the Future Workforce Award for its Project 2020 programme, which is aimed at young unemployed people in the borough.
It demonstrated “real leadership” in improving the chances of black and ethnic minority young people in the borough, the Race for Opportunity awards panel said.
Paul Bridge, chief executive of Homes for Haringey, said: “This award means a great deal to us. It recognises the positive impact that Project 2020 has had in working with young people in Haringey.
“We are hugely appreciative of our supporters and partners and we look forward to building on our success so far.”
Project 2020 works with 16 to 25 year-olds who are not in employment, education or training for work.
It is based in Northumberland Park, where nearly a quarter of all young people are not in work or school.
