The Phoenix Wing at St Ann’s Hospital to host national conference on eating disorders
A mental health hospital in Tottenham is behind a new national conference to discuss the treatment of eating disorders.
The Phoenix Wing at St Ann’s Hospital, in St Ann’s Road, will run the event in central London on December 11, 2013.
It will focus on current challenges and experiences in the treatment of eating disorders with a particular focus on patient experience and involvement.
The Phoenix Wing specialises in eating disorder and provides services to people in north, central and north east London as well as Essex.
The unit, which is part of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, wants to bring together both professionals and patients at the conference.
Maria Kane, the chief executive of the trust, said: “The Phoenix Wing provides a superb standard of care to its patients.
“I am delighted that they are taking this opportunity to share their expertise with others.
“I hope that by bringing together professionals and patients from across the country this event will also be an opportunity to hear about the great work being done elsewhere to improve the treatment of eating disorders.”
